本学部のチャクラバルティー アビック准教授の単著論文「Rapid Change in the Greenland Ice Sheet and Implications for Planetary Sustainability: A Qualitative Assessment」が、「Earth」（MDPI）のオープンアクセス学術雑誌に掲載されました。
近年、グリーンランド氷床の変化が注目されており、海面上昇や気候変動における影響に関して多数の研究が行われています。しかし、そのほとんどが定量分析であり、グリーンランド氷床の変化は当該地域や周辺の地域にもたらす影響、そもそも変化の背景にある自然的メカニズムの複雑性の側面に関する質的分析は非常に少ない。そこで、本論文ではこれまでのグリーンランド氷床の変化に関する文献をレビューし、新たな研究の可能性について論じました。なお、グリーンランドがラスト・チャンス・ツーリズムなどで注目される場所であるため、観光学領域においても意義のある内容だと思われます。
This article presents a comprehensive qualitative assessment of the current scientific literature on the transformation of the Greenland Ice Sheet and its ecological and social implications. While there are a lot of ongoing research on Greenland, most of that is quantitative in nature, and there has been very little qualitative analysis. This paper addresses that crucial gap and identifies several new research possibilities.
